Here’s another installment of our blog series where we learn more about the individuals behind the success at PathGuide Technologies. We recently spoke with software engineer, Kyle Hart.
Kyle was eager to share more about what projects he’s most proud of, the advice he’d give to others interested in pursuing a similar career path, and what excites him most about his current role.
Kyle is a results-driven, customer-focused, articulate, and analytical engineer who joined PathGuide in October 2018. In addition to a development background in C#, .net and SQL, he’s also a whiz when it comes to database design and analysis. Kyle’s been a valued member of the team, putting to work his skills in developing business plans, requirements specifications, user documentation, architectural systems research, and more.
Thinking back, what attracted you to the job you were hired to do at PathGuide?
One of the things that I liked about PathGuide is that it was a smaller company, which makes it easier to be able to talk to coworkers and get help when you need it.
What work or projects are you most proud of and why?
I would have to say that the Precartonization Module for PathGuide’s Latitude Manifest & Shipping System has been one of the most fun projects I’ve worked on so far.
What advice would you offer someone who is interested in a similar career path?
I would suggest they read up on SQL and .net development. Those skills will really help with becoming a software engineer at PathGuide.
What excites you most about your role today?
Honestly, the most exciting thing is all the new projects that I get to work on! Currently, I am working on a project for a customer out of Australia, which has been quite interesting and fun so far.
Who do you turn to for advice, guidance or inspiration within PathGuide?
I know Brian and Isaac mentioned him already, but Greg Laycock (Vice President, Research & Development) is one person I often turn to for advice. Marc Mathews, our Director of Customer Service, is another person I go to for guidance.
Thank you so much, Kyle! We really appreciate the time you took to answer our questions and enjoyed learning more about your experience at PathGuide.
Please keep an eye on our blog, as we’ll be sitting down with another employee quite soon.
